Helko Werk Classic Outdoor Hatchet | 500g | 35cm

The Helko Werk Classic Outdoor Hatchet (280.0E050H010) is a compact, lightweight axe designed for camping, hiking, bushcraft and everyday outdoor tasks. Featuring a traditional American-style head and a practical 36cm ash handle, it offers excellent control for chopping firewood, preparing kindling and completing light jobs around camp or the garden.

Weighing approximately 750g overall, with a 500g forged steel head, the Classic Outdoor Hatchet is easy to carry in a camping kit, vehicle setup or outdoor gear bag without sacrificing useful chopping performance.

The hatchet head is forged from premium C50 carbon steel and hardened to approximately 51–56 HRC for dependable edge retention and durability. Its mirror-polished finish helps reduce friction through timber while also improving resistance to corrosion.

A particularly useful feature is the flat rear section of the axe head, which can be used for light hammering tasks, such as driving tent pegs into the ground. This makes the hatchet a versatile choice when space and weight are important.

The ergonomically shaped FSC® certified ash wood handle is sourced from sustainable forestry and treated with linseed oil to help protect the timber while maintaining a comfortable, natural grip. The head is securely mounted using a traditional wooden wedge and ring wedge system.

Supplied with a leather blade pouch with integrated belt loop, the Helko Werk Classic Outdoor Hatchet can be safely carried on your belt or packed with your camping and bushcraft equipment.
