Adventurous Walks in WA's South West Book by Dave Osborne

Following the recent release of "Bushwalks of the Perth Region - 40 Adventurous Day Walks", this new book now highlights a selection of wonderful hiking opportunities in WA’s South West.

FEATURES

  • 20 diverse walk opportunities in WA's South West for experienced walkers
  • Walk route descriptions, elevation profiles and maps
  • Free 1 year subscription to WalkGPS website with access to GPS files for all walks for import to GPS device
  • Access to custom base maps for each walk area for import to Avenza Maps smartphone app

The total of over 550km of walking described embraces a diversity of natural landscapes, from the inland karri and jarrah forests to the rugged coastlines. The wide variety of day walks, overnighters and multi-day walks introduce walkers to seventeen national parks and reserves, plus state forests across the southwest from near Bunbury and Collie in the north, to near Denmark and Albany in the south and Margaret River in the southwest.

None of the bushwalking routes described have previously been published in hard copy. They will especially appeal to self-reliant walkers seeking new, more challenging and immersive experiences, away from the busy, most trodden trails.

These are mostly circuit walks, so avoiding any need for car shuffles. The walks mostly follow unmarked routes, not formed and marked trails. In most cases they incorporate sections of old forestry and park management tracks and existing formed trails. Walk distances vary from 13 to 21km for the day walks, and up to 120km for the multi-day walks.

Each copy of this book also comes with the special bonus of a complimentary subscription to the WalkGPS website, giving access to downloadable GPS navigation files for all 20 walks and maps for each of the walk routes, plus access to custom base maps for each walk area for import to the Avenza Maps smartphone navigation app.
